Which video formats are supported?

MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and AVI are supported. File size is limited to 200 MB and the GIF segment to 15 seconds.

Why is my GIF so large?

GIF compression is limited; high fps + wide size + long duration add up quickly. A good starting point is 10 fps, 480 px and 5 seconds.

Can I convert my entire video to a GIF?

No. The maximum segment length is 15 seconds. For longer videos, choose the most interesting moment.

Why doesn't the GIF have sound?

The GIF format only supports images; it has no audio channel. For animated content with audio, WebM or MP4 are better choices.

Is my file stored on your server?

Your video is temporarily uploaded to our server to create the GIF. It is deleted once processing finishes or is cancelled, and permanently removed within 20 minutes.
